The Niagara Health Foundation is dedicated to developing and stewarding resources that support patient care, education, and research at Niagara Health, the Niagara Region’s hospital system. As one of the national leaders in community hospital-based research, Niagara Health focuses on generating locally relevant knowledge to deliver evidence-based healthcare to Niagara residents.
Our partnership emphasizes enhancing Niagara Health’s teaching and learning at the new hospital in Niagara Falls, the hometown of one of our Foundation’s founders, John. Our funding played a pivotal role in establishing the Niagara Health Knowledge Institute in 2023, which drives knowledge creation, dissemination, and capacity building, all centred around the patient care experience of the local population. Additionally, our contributions are supporting the construction of a 175-sear teaching auditorium at the new hospital site in Niagara Falls, fostering collaborative learning for students from nearby post-secondary institutions, staff, and community members.
Our support has contributed to milestones, including:
- Launch of the Niagara Health Knowledge Institute: Launched in May 2023, the Niagara Health Knowledge Institute advances community hospital-based research at Niagara Health. It facilitates the generation, mobilization, and integration of healthcare knowledge, with the goal of improving patient care locally and fostering innovation beyond Niagara Region. By focusing on the Niagara Region’s residents, the Institute ensures that the research is both relevant and impactful.
- Construction of Teaching Auditorium at the New Hospital in Niagara Falls: Our contributions support the construction of a 175-seat auditorium at the new hospital in Niagara Falls, providing a space for collaborative and community learning. This facility will serve healthcare trainees from local post-secondary institutions, as well as staff and community members, promoting both academic and in-house learning opportunities.
